The City of Rockville has rescheduled the Peace Day in the Park celebration at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park to Sept. 22.
The rescheduling comes after Sunday’s event was canceled due to extreme heat, according to Rockville’s X post.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 22 at 1800 Piccard Dr., the Peace Day will feature free entertainment, games, activities, a labyrinth, and a hope flame dedication.
The annual Peace Day honors the late teen poet Mattie J.T Stepanek’s birthday and legacy. His birthday is July 17.
