Have you noticed more deer roaming around your neighborhood and on streets and yards? In a post on X, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief Public Information Officer Pete Piringer told drivers to be alert for deer. Peak season for deer and auto collisions is from late September through December.
He said motorists should be alert, especially at dawn and dusk, and look for deer crossing signs.
In another X post, Piringer said deer crossing signs are installed in areas with a history of deer collisions and high deer populations.

If you do encounter deer while driving, Piringer advises to not veer for deer, but remain calm, not swerve and apply breaks firmly.
