Teresa Moreno De Mejia, of Rockville, was pronounced dead after being struck by the drivers of two cars at Veirs Mill Road and Atlantic Avenue in Rockville.
According to Montgomery County Police, the 70-year-old woman was walking across the street at 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 26 when she was struck by a Toyota Supra and Toyota Prius.
Emergency workers rendered life saving measures but were unsuccessful.
Both drivers were traveling eastbound on Veirs Mill Road. Both drivers remained at the scene.
At first, police were looking for a third vehicle but no longer believe other vehicles were involved.
According to Action for Transit, she is the 15th pedestrian to be killed in Montgomery County and the 46th road death in 2023. The crash also is the 13th road death on 5.78-mile Veirs Mill Rd since 2015, according to that organization.
