Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Gaithersburg

Police said a woman was fatally struck Monday night in Gaithersburg.

Gaithersburg police and county police responded to Great Seneca Highway and Kentlands Boulevard at about 9:17 p.m. Monday and located a woman in the road, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

County fire and rescue personnel provided medical assistance but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the woman’s name will be shared after notifying next of kin.

The driver involved stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to police.

Last month at least four pedestrians died in fatal collisions in the county.
