Police said a pedestrian was fatally struck Tuesday in Rockville.
61-year-old Jose Rene Del Cid Ramos was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
After 9 p.m. Tuesday, Rockville City Police officers and county fire rescue responded to Hungerford Drive and Beall Avenue for reports of a crash involving a 2010 Nissan Maxima and a pedestrian, according to police. First responders found Del Cid Ramos with multiple serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to police, a driver in a Nissan Maxima was going northbound on Hungerford and struck Del Cid Ramos.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police. Detectives urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call them at 240-773-6620.
