A pedestrian was fatally struck by two cars being driven on Columbia Pike near Hillwood Drive in Silver Spring Saturday at 1:50 a.m.
Zelalem Yirga Adamu, 40, of Laurel, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Montgomery County Police, drivers of a red 2015 Lexus ES300h and a black 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee were headed north on Columbia Pike when they struck Adamu.
The Lexus driver remained on the scene. The Jeep driver left the scene before reporting the collision hours later at a police station.
