Authorities said a train fatally struck a trespasser who was walking in the tunnel between the North Bethesda and Grosvenor-Strathmore stations on Saturday.
County fire and rescue personnel helped rescue passengers aboard the train, according to Metro Transit Police. They were relocated onto a rescue train, according to County Fire and Rescue Service Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
A couple of people were evaluated for injuries.
