An urgent care physician was arrested on charges of rape and sexual assault on Thursday. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed Malik worked at the Advanced Walk-in Urgent Care in Silver Spring.
The incidents took place at the urgent care facility and happened to two victims. According to the Montgomery County Department of Police press release Malik allegedly touched patients inappropriately and sexually assaulted patients during routine physical exams.
A warrant for his arrest was issued and on Feb. 16 he was detained outside of the urgent care facility. Malik faces charges of second-degree rape and assault and a fourth-degree sex offense.
The Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) believes there are several more incidents involving the 58-year-old physician and urge potential victims to come forward with any information. Victims may call the SVID at (240) 773-5400.
