Baseball fans who want to avoid the crowd, time commitment and prices of Major League Baseball games have a great alternative right here in Montgomery County. Bethesda Big Train is gearing up for its 25th season at Shirley Povich Field. There’s an exhibition game Friday night then the season officially starts Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Bethesda Big Train founder and president Bruce Adams wears many hats for the team and league. He’s excited for another season with top notch collegiate players, some of whom will make it to the majors. “23 of these guys have made it to the Major Leagues so this is top flight wooden bat baseball, affordable family fun right near home,” Adams told MCM.
One of the fun things to do in MoCo during the summer is going to @GoBigTrain games at Povich Field. Big Train founder and prez Bruce Adams seems raring to go for season #25. This year, the games will be televised (tape-delayed) on @mymcmedia. pic.twitter.com/EqZHWSgQsy
