
Six professional area theater companies will participate in writing, directing, rehearsing and performing original plans – all in just 24 hours.
The 17th annual event is produced by the Bethesda Urban Partnership and Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District and will take place March 8 at 8 p.m. at Imagination Stage in Bethesda.
Play in a Day actually begins March 7 as playwrights and directors meet to learn their assigned themes and props. Playwrights will then work through the night to create 10-minute plays. On Saturday, rehearsals begin, leading up to the performances that night.
Participating theatre companies include Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo, Flying V in Bethesda, Imagination Stage, The Keegan Theatre in Washington, D.C., Olney Theatre and Rorschach Theatre in Washington, D.C.
General admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Bethesda Urban Partnership . Remaining tickets will be available at the door starting at 7 p.m.
