
The Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) has released a new episode that provides residents with expert guidance on managing finances during life transitions like job loss, relocation, or retirement.
This episode covers budgeting and managing expenses, reducing debt, improving financial literacy, and recognizing and avoiding scams. The episode is hosted by Michelle Escobar, an OCP investigator, and features Ira Rheingold, executive director of the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
“This episode breaks down complex financial decisions into manageable steps,” said Ms. Escobar.
In addition to financial guidance this episode highlights common scams used against people during challenging times, such as fake job offers moving scams, and retirement related fraud.
