Police said a teen was identified in making a bomb threat against Lakelands Park Middle School in March.
Detectives identified a 13-year-old as the individual responsible for making the threat, according to the Gaithersburg Police Department on Thursday.
According to police, at about 8:43 a.m. March 15, Community Engagement Officers went to the school in Gaithersburg for a reported bomb threat made on social media. The threat was determined as not credible, according to police. Since then police investigated and identified the person responsible. According to police, the 13-year-old admitted to it, and detectives referred charges to state juvenile services, for threats of mass violence.
