Police said two suspects have been charged for armed robbery in Silver Spring.
Shamell Naquan Joyner, 35, of Washington D.C., is charged with two armed robberies and Aaron Christopher Johnson, 30, of an unconfirmed address, is charged with one armed robbery, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
According to police, Joyner is accused of robbing an Exxon gas station in the 9300 block of Georgia Ave. on April 5. Police said he went into the gas station, locked the front door, went behind the register and displayed a handgun to the employee, demanding he open the register. Joyner obtained money and left.
Both Joyner and Johnson are accused of robbing a 7-Eleven in the 8400 block of Georgia Ave. last week on May 2, according to police. Police said Joyner approached the employee who was at the counter and displayed a handgun. He demanded money from the register before leaving with cash and driving away with Johnson.
