Police Accountability Board Meets With Law Enforcement Chiefs Thursday

Montgomery County’s Police Accountability Board (PAB) holds its quarterly meeting with the heads of local law enforcement agencies from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 in Silver Spring. The meeting is open to the public and takes place both in-person and virtually.

The board was formed in the summer of 2022 following a new state requirement. The PAB is responsible for handling complaints alleging police misconduct.

Thursday’s meeting takes place in person  at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at 1 Veterans Plaza.  The public may attend the meeting in-person or virtually via Zoom. The meeting will also stream live on Facebook here.

In addition to meeting with Law Enforcement Agencies on a quarterly basis, the PAB is required to, among other things, advise County Executive Marc Elrich and the County Council on policing matters and refer each complaint of police misconduct filed with the PAB to the appropriate law enforcement agency within 3 days after receipt for investigation.
