In 2022, the county’s police department turned 100 years old. As part of their celebration, they hosted a family friendly event at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg. More than 35,000 attended the one-day event.
This year, the police department is partnering with their partner public safety agencies to host a new event, known as Public Safety Appreciation Day. The event will take place on Sunday, May 21 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine, attendees can expect free activities, such as face painting, a magician, inflatables, music, and performances on the community stage. The public safety agencies will have displays, showcasing everything from K9 techniques to a motorcycle skills course.
Food will be available for purchase from a lineup at Food Truck Alley.
Parking for the event is free. More information can be found online.
