Montgomery County Police charged a 19-year-old Damascus man with murder in connection with the Father’s Day shooting death of James Joel Austin.
Khamani Imes was arrested Tuesday but is not accused of doing the actual shooting. He was arrested for allegedly giving a gun to Isaiah Brown-Hawkins, 16, whom police are seeking in the death of Austin of Damascus on June 18.
According to police, officers located Austin in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 9800 block of Bethesda Church Road in Damascus at 10 p.m. Austin was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown-Hawkins is believed to be armed with a handgun and dangerous.
Imes was arrested at his Bethesda Church Road home. A firearm was recovered during a search of the residence.
Imes was charged with underage possession of a firearm and transported to the county Central Processing Unit, where he will be charged with first degree murder and conspiracy, police said.
