Police Arrest Teenagers Suspected of Robbery, Weapon Possession in Olney

Three teenagers were arrested in connection with a series of robberies in Olney.

In the first incident, Montgomery County Police officers responded to the Harris Teeter grocery store on Town Center Drive on Feb. 15 following the report of a strong-arm robbery.

An investigation determined that eight juveniles approached two of the victims, and one 16-year-old was considered a suspect.

Then, on March 9, officers went to a McDonald’s in the 18000 block of Georgia Avenue following the report of an armed robbery.

According to police, the victims were in the bathroom when they were approached by three suspects, including the 16-year-old who was a suspect in the Harris Teeter robbery.

On March 14, police observed three teenage suspects who were involved in a robbery in the Olney Village Shopping Center. All three suspects were apprehended by police.

A 16 and 15-year-old were taken into custody and charged. in the robberies. The 15-year-old was in possession of a firearm, when apprehended by police. A different 16-year-old also had a firearm at the time, according to police.

Both 16-year-olds were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

The 15-year-old was transported to the Cheltenham Detention Center.
