Police Charge 3 Teens with Bethesda Robbery

Three teens are facing charges following a robbery that allegedly occurred Oct. 22 at a Bethesda tobacco shop, according to Montgomery County police.

On Oct. 22, at approximately 9:34 a.m.,  police responded to Tobacco and More Mart on the 7800 block of Old Georgetown Road for a reported robbery, according to a police statement made Monday.

Police say the suspects, ages 14, 15 and 16, entered the store and attempted to leave without paying for items they took.

When an employee attempted to intervene, police claim the 16-year old allegedly struck the worker in the head. They then allegedly left the property, stolen goods in hand. The police statement did not specify what was taken.

According to the statement, after the robbery, police located and apprehended the teens without incident.

Police say they charged all three teens with robbery before releasing them to their primary caregivers.

The police statement did not mention where the teens were arrested or if a weapon was used during the robbery. It also did not say if the employee required medical attention.
