Police: Dozen Gunshots Fired in Takoma Park

Takoma Park police officers are investigating an incident Sunday evening in which someone in a black sedan is believed to have fired a dozen gunshots.

According to police, at about 10:35 p.m., a resident of the 6400 block of Kansas Lane found a spent shell casing on the street in front of his home, near the curb on the opposite side of the street.

Officers canvassed the curb line from Westmoreland to Allegheny avenues and found two more spent shell casings.

A nearby resident’s security camera captured a vehicle driving very fast. When the vehicle is no longer in view of the security camera, the sound of 12 gunshots could be heard, according to police.
