Police said a Rockville man was arrested and charged for the murder of a woman who was reported missing in January before her body was found.
20-year-old Keylin Yolibeth Chavez-Dominguez was discovered dead in the Upper Paint Branch Stream Valley Park on Jan. 28. In a release Tuesday, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said detectives identified Francisco Ramon Lara Garcia, 30, as a suspect. Police said he was Chavez-Dominguez’s ex-boyfriend and they were living together at the time of her disappearance.
Police said that on Feb. 1, Lara Garcia was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Kirkwood, Missouri.
On Feb. 13, detectives received an arrest warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Police said Lara Garcia is being held in St. Louis, Missouri, and is awaiting extradition to Maryland.
Chavez-Dominguez was last seen by her family and friends on Dec. 30, 2022 before she was reported missing on Jan. 2. On Jan. 28, police responded to the park for a reported suspicious situation and found her body.
