The cause of death in what originally was believed to be an assault has now been classified as a hit and run involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Elmer Camacho-Aguilar, 30, was pronounced dead at an area hospital June 10. Montgomery County Police located his body in the 800 block of University Boulevard East in Silver Spring. He was suffering from trauma to his body when police arrived.
The driver did not remain on the scene.

Elmer Camacho-Aguilar, 30, was pronounced dead at an area hospital following what Montgomery County Police believe was the result of an assault.
Police responded on June 10 at 12:40 a.m. to the 800 block of University Boulevard East in Silver Spring where they found Camacho-Aguilar suffering from trauma to his body.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Washington, D.C., will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
