Police identified a 22-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed Sunday in Aspen Hill.
Ruth Noemi Bermudez-Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said in a release Monday.
Police said she was crossing the 13600 block of Georgia Avenue when she was struck by a driver in a 2002 Ford Taurus going northbound. Officers and fire rescue personnel responded to the area of Georgia and Hewitt avenues at about 7:37 p.m.
The driver remained on scene, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with information to contact Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives at 240-773-6620.
