Montgomery County Police officers are investigating two shooting incidents that occurred in Montgomery Village during the weekend.
On Sunday, officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive at about 11:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 37-year-old male who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is being investigated as a homicide, according to police. The victim’s body was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
On Saturday at 5:42 p.m., officers responded to a shooting that took place between two groups of people. A 17-year-old male was struck by a bullet and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Vehicles in the area also were struck by bullets.
The shooting occurred at the South Valley Park in the 19000 block of Watkins Mill Road in Montgomery Village, near where young people from Montgomery Village Sports Association were playing football.
There is no suspect in custody. According to police, this is an isolated incident.
6th District officers are investigating a shooting in the 10100 block of Little Pond Place in Montgomery Village.
One person has been transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
