Montgomery County police are investigating after a man was attacked during an attempted robbery at the Wheaton Metro station.
On Oct. 29 at approximately 10:35 p.m., Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers responded to Wheaton Metro station on Georgia Avenue for the report of an attempted robbery.
According to a MCPD press release, an adult male victim was verbally harassed as he walked through the Metro station toward bus bay outside. The suspect, described as a male in his 20s of average height and medium build, followed the victim to a Ride On bus.
When the victim attempted to board the bus, the suspect grabbed him and knocked him to the ground. The suspect began hitting and kicking the victim before frisking his clothing. The suspect then fled the scene without taking any property from the victim.

Surveillance video showed that the suspect had curly, black hair and wore a red and blue sweatshirt with the Washington Nationals “W” logo, jeans, and black shoes.
