Montgomery County Police have identified the two people who were fatally injured in a collision July 10 in the area of Georgia Avenue and May Street.
Prabodh Vaid, 79, of Silver Spring, was driving a black Toyota Camry, and was attempting to make a left turn from northbound Georgia Avenue on May Street. The driver of a black Jeep Cherokee was heading south on Georgia Avenue when it struck the Toyota, pushing it off the road and into a yard, according to Montgomery County Police.
The Jeep driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
Both Vaid and his passenger, Nirmala Vaid, 77, of Silver Spring, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people were pronounced dead following a two-car collision at Georgia Avenue and May Street in the evening of July 10.
Montgomery County Police responded to that location in the Wheaton-Glenmont area at 7:44 p.m. The two people who died were in the same vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate this incident.
