Montgomery County Police are investigating a Dec. 19 fatal collision involving a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) bus by the intersection of Fairland Road and Fair Ridge Drive in Silver Spring.
A 63-year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
At about 8 p.m., police and county fire and rescue officials arrived at the scene.
According to their report, the driver of a silver 1987 Toyota Camry station wagon was going west on Fairland Road when she crossed into the eastbound lane and hit a 2013 New Flyer WMATA passenger bus, which was not carrying any riders.
The bus driver was not injured.
