A man died after a two-vehicle collision in Aspen Hill last week, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
31-year-old Chad Edward Anthony Richards of Lanham in Prince George’s County succumbed to his injuries last Thursday following the crash last Wednesday, police said. At about 10 a.m. on March 23, police and fire rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Hewitt Avenue for a reported two-vehicle collision with entrapment.
According to police, Richards was driving a 2011 Audi Q5 going northbound on Georgia Avenue toward Hewitt Avenue when he struck a 2015 Mercedes GLK350 making a left turn from southbound Georgia to eastbound Hewitt.
The crash caused Richards to leave the roadway and he struck a wooden utility pole, which caused significant damage, police said. Both drivers were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and Richards died the following day.
