On Friday night, a pedestrian in Gaithersburg was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on MD 355, also known as Frederick Road.
Montgomery County Police are investigating the incident that occurred near the intersection of MD 355 and North Westland Drive.
Police and Fire and Rescue services responded to the report of a collision at about 9:19 p.m.
Douglas Ariel Perez Martinez, 33, of Duvall Lane, was trying to cross MD 355 when he was hit by a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300, according to the police report.
Police say the Mercedes, driven by Mike Nam, 32, of Garden View Way in Rockville, was heading north on MD 355 when his car hit Martinez near North Westland Drive.
Martinez was transported to a local hospital with injuries police described as life-threatening. A spokesperson for the police did not have an update about the condition of the pedestrian.
