Montgomery County Police identified the man killed in a single-car collision in Silver Spring as Peter Kostas Axarlis, 43, of Rockville.
According to police, Axarlis was driving a silver 2020 GMC Sierra south on Arcola when he drove off the road and hit multiple trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a pick-up truck was pronounced dead at the scene after driving off the road and striking multiple trees, according to Montgomery County Police.
Sunday, at 12:32 p.m., Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Arcola Avenue and University Boulevard West in Silver Spring following the report of an accident.
According to police, the driver was headed south on Arcola when for reasons still under investigation, he drove off the road near the intersection of University Boulevard West.
Police will release the name of the victim following notification of relatives.
