A man was killed in a single-vehicle collision in Gaithersburg on Monday night according to Montgomery County police.
35-year-old Jonathan Davis of Washington, D.C. was driving east on Darnestown Road (MD 28) when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed over the center median and continued traveling east in the westbound lanes of traffic. Police say the car then crossed back over the center median and struck a tree in the eastbound lanes of Darnestown Road near Tschiffely Square Road. First responders arrived on the scene shortly after 6:30 p.m.
Davis was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
