An adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead early Wednesday following a collision on southbound New Hampshire Avenue by Chalmers Road and Cresthaven Drive in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police and fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene at 4:12 a.m. The victim, whose name was not released pending notification of relative, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene.
By 9:30 a.m., all traffic lanes reopened.
