Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday in the Twinbrook Parkway area of Rockville.
At about 9:23 p.m. that night, officers responded to the 12900 block of Twinbrook Parkway for the sound of shots fired and a reported shooting, per a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). Police said the first responding officer saw a suspect carrying a black handgun with an extended magazine by his side.

The gun was a “Privately Made Firearm,” per the release, which is also known as a ghost gun. It had a 30-round extended magazine.
Police described the suspect as “a Black male, approximately 30-years-old, with short black hair. He was wearing a baseball hat, black jacket and blue jeans.”
The investigation is ongoing. MCPD asks anyone with information to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 or the 1st District Investigative Section at (240) 773-6084.
