Police Investigating Pedestrian Collision in Silver Spring

Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) 3rd District Station is investigating a hit-and-run collision from Oct. 24.

According to a press release, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the collision at Briggs Chaney Road and Legend Oaks Drive of a vehicle that ran into a tree with a possible ejection, according to MCFRS Chief Public Information Officer Pete Piringer’s X post at 9:13 a.m. Piringer updated at 10:44 a.m. that a vehicle struck a highway worker and veered into a tree. The driver left the scene on foot.

MCPD said they are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the driver of the 2006 silver Infiniti sedan involved in the collision. MCDP’s investigation revealed the victim was a Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) employee working at the location who was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
