Montgomery County and Takoma Park Police are investigating a series of commercial robberies at food trucks that began in January.
Surveillance photos of the suspects were released by police.
On Jan. 23, police went to Elvira’s Kitchen Food Truck in the 14000 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring after receiving a report of a robbery at about 3 p.m.
According to police, two Hispanic males who were between 18 and 25 years old with a thin build approached the food truck, vaulted a barrier and climbed inside. One of the suspects then pulled an object from his waistband, which the food truck employee thought was a weapon. The employee fled, and the suspects stole money.
According to police, other food truck robberies occurred, including:
Vanessa’s Pupuseria in the 8500 block of Piney Branch Road, on Feb. 2 at approximately 5:05 p.m.
Pupuseria Luisa in the 6500 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park on Jan. 27 at approximately 4 p.m.
Pupuseria y Taquiera Lupita Food Truck in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park on Jan. 20 at approximately 3 p.m.
Pupuseria Luisa in the 6500 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park on Jan. 13 at approximately 2 p.m.
