Police said a man was shot and killed Sunday in Damascus.
James Joel Austin, 32, of Damascus, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Officers were dispatched to the 9800 block of Bethesda Church Road at about 9:57 p.m. for multiple calls about a shooting.
According to police, officers found Austin with apparent gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts.
Austin has been transported for autopsy.
Police said no one is in custody and no suspect information is currently available.
