Police said officers successfully stopped an illegal car meet-up involving exhibition driving Saturday in Burtonsville.
Officers responded to the Sandy Spring Road area where they found a large group of vehicles engaging in unsafe driving, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). Police quickly increased their presence and did targeted traffic enforcement which caused the group to leave the county.
Police said the enforcement helped prevent potential crashes and injuries.
According to MCPD, these driving events continue to negatively effect the region and the police department will continue to work with partners “to address unsafe driving behaviors and hold those involved accountable.”
