A person is in custody following a barricade situation in Olney, according to police.
On Monday, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to Shadowridge Court for a barricaded person, MCPD shared on Twitter.
There was increased police presence, MCPD wrote, but the incident was contained to one residence. Police asked people to avoid the area as officers worked “towards a peaceful resolution.”
At about 9:15 a.m., officers responded to the residence for the report of domestic violence, police wrote in an email to MyMCM. Police believe “he was armed and alone inside the residence.” Moments later, he was not located in the residence and was taken into custody at a different location, according to police.
In an update at 3:31 p.m., police wrote on Twitter that the barricade situation had concluded and an individual was in custody.
