Montgomery County police officers successfully prevented a car meet-up that was set to occur in the Burtonsville Shopping Center Sept. 28.
Police special investigation division officers were told of an illegal street take-over with planned exhibition during that was planned to take place in the 15000 block of Old Columbia Pike. Officer presence was increased in the area and stopped individuals driving unsafely, according to Montgomery County Police Department.
“These proactive enforcement efforts helped stop potential collisions, injuries, and disruptions to the community,” according to a police news release.
County Executive Marc Elrich complimented the police work on social media.
