Detectives are investigating an armed robbery of a Germantown store and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
Police responded to the Wisteria Beer and Wine located in the 13000 block of Wisteria Drive at about 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 for a reported armed robbery, according to a release from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
An unknown male suspect entered the store, walked behind the cashier counter and reached around an employee to open the cash register, per MCPD. He pointed a gun at the employee’s neck and demanded he open the registers. The employee complied and the suspect removed cash from both registers. The suspect redirected the gun to a customer who tried to leave the store and told him not to move. Police said the suspect demanded Newport cigarettes before leaving.
Police released surveillance video and ask for help identifying the suspect.
MCPD described the suspect as “a Black male, approximately 20-years-old, with an average build. He is approximately 5-feet, 10-inches to 6-feet tall. He has long back braids or locs with a metallic gold cuff on the right side and a goatee. He was wearing a black do-rag under a black baseball cap, a black long-sleeve shirt under a black short-sleeve t-shirt, baggy black sweatpants and white Nike sneakers with black laces.”
