Update (Jan. 19): Missing teen, Kayla Sanchez, has been located safe and unharmed according to the police.
Original (Jan. 13): Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police-Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Montgomery Village.
Kayla Andrea Sanchez, age 13, was last seen by family the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 8. At the time, she was leaving her home on Little Pond Place and told family she was going to a friend’s house.
Sanchez is approximately 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has shoulder-length red and blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt and black leggings.
Sanchez has communicated with her family since Jan. 8 by text, but will not let her family know her location. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.
Anyone with information regarding Sanchez’s whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24-hour line).
