Montgomery County Police are searching for a teenager who is a suspect in the shooting death of a Damascus man.
Isaiah Jamael Brown-Hawkins, 16, is accused of shooting and killing James Joel Austin, 22, on June 18, which was Father’s Day.
According to police, officers located the victim in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 9800 block of Bethesda Church Road in Damascus at 10 p.m. Austin was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, Brown-Hawkins drove away in a Honda that was found in Washington, D.C. However, police have not located Brown-Hawkins.
Police have requested a warrant for Brown-Hawkins’ arrest. He is expected to be charged with first degree murder, felony murder, armed carjacking and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.
Brown-Hawkins is believed to be armed with a handgun and dangerous.
