The 31st annual Poolesville Day is set for Saturday — rain or shine.
The day goes from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Whalen Commons at 19701 Fisher Ave. The schedule includes a town parade at 10 a.m. and a 5k charity run at 8 a.m.
“The weather forecast is calling for the possibility of rain and wind. According to the weather prediction models, the worst of the storm should effect areas east of Washington D.C.,” Poolesville Day Committee Chair Kevin Schramm stated on the Poolesville Day website.
“The logistics involved with cancelling or postponing an event of this scale is very complex. The Poolesville Day Committee has decided to forge ahead with Poolesville Day as planned and we are hoping for the best,” he stated.
“We might get a little wet, but we will still have fun.”
There will be musical performances, live agricultural reserve demonstrations, a classic car show and an electric vehicle car show. The electric vehicle car show is the largest on the east coast, per a release. There will be children’s activities like pony rides, vendors and exhibitors, and food and beverages.
Attendees can see road closures here.
