Poolesville was ranked as the third most affordable community to live within Maryland, according to consumer financial data company SmartAsset.
The study lists the 10 most affordable communities in the state, with Riverside being named number one.
The average Maryland homeowner pays $3,009 a year in property taxes, the average annual mortgage payment is $11,515, the average median income is $84,805. Communities further away from the Baltimore and D.C. areas are cheaper than those closer.
