Poolesville Town Manager Tony Tomasello will leave his position next spring, according to a news release Thursday.
“It is with regret that the Commissioners of Poolesville announce that Tony Tomasello will be leaving his position as Poolesville town manager in April 2022,” town commissioners said. The statement said he is leaving for family-related reasons.
“Tony advised the Commissioners that he will depart the position for family-related, personal reasons, and that this was a decision made with the support of his entire family. In his time with the Town, Tony has had a positive impact, accomplished a great deal, and he will certainly be missed.”
He will serve full-time until Jan. 1, 2022, and then part-time until early April. The statement said Tomasello is willing to extend his term while the new town manager search is underway. Tomasello was chosen for the job through a recruitment process conducted by town commissioners.
Tomasello came out of retirement in August to lead Poolesville. He was Gaithersburg City Manager from 2012-2020 before retiring last year.
Seth Rivard served as Poolesville Town Manager from January 2020-March 2021.
