Night golf is back at one of Montgomery County’s favorite public golf courses.
For the 9th time in the last 10 years (no event in 2020 due to COVID), Laytonsville Golf Course is hosting their popular after dark golf event Saturday, July 16.
“We started doing Night Golf because it was fun, and in these times we all need a little fun,” Laytonsville general manager Matt Jarvis told MyMCM. ” It’s a great, fun way to play golf, and we get to see a lot of new faces each event we run.”
The course will be set up with LED lights. Red, white and blue lights in the fairway gives golfers aiming points, as well as distance. Flags, holes and target landing areas will also be lit up. For safety, hazards (bunkers, water, thick vegetation) are also marked with LED lights.
For the 9-hole event, each registered golfer gets a cart, 2 LED golf balls, glow necklace, dinner, complimentary beverage ticket, happy hour specials, and driving range balls.
Happy hour begins at 5 p.m., registration and dinner starts at 7:45 pm. Golf begins around 9 p.m. when it is sufficiently dark.
Organizers urge interested golfers to sign up soon because the event will sell out quickly.
