Listening to music videos on You Tube paved the way for Potomac resident Gavriella Kaufmann to win big on Fox’s Name That Tune Aug. 24.
The digital marketer and micro influencer/branding spokesperson grew up with a father who played piano and a mother who frequented concerts.
About a year ago, she saw a LinkedIn article seeking Name that Tune contestants for the television shows fourth season. Two days after applying, Kaufmann, 27, learned she had a chance to appear.
She was pitted against other contestants in practice rounds and then made it to Name That Tune Boot Camp, where she had to show that not only did she recognizes songs incredibly fast but could bounce back quickly if she messed up.
The television staff obviously liked what they saw and picked her to compete on a show, which was filmed in Ireland, explained the Churchill High School graduate.
When her big moment came, Kaufmann breezed through the opening rounds without allowing her competitor to get a single tune right regardless of the genre. She then moved on to the Golden Medley round, earning a total of $85,000.
