Applications for pre-K and Head Start programs for the Fall 2025 term are now open and available for children of families below certain income thresholds, according to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).
Both programs aim to provide high-quality education to young children and teach them foundational knowledge and basic skills to prepare them for K-12 schooling. For eligible applicants, MCPS offers both full-day and part-day options.
Eligibility for both programs is determined by the age of the child, household income and residency. Children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 1 can apply. Interested parents should register their children through the online education portal ParentVue, or by contacting a Private Provider Partner.
In-person registration support is also available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4910 Macon Road in Rockville.
