Truckers from across the country congregated in Hagerstown on Friday to protest COVID-19 mandates. On Sunday, the “People’s Convoy” made its way from Hagerstown to the Capital Beltway. Onlookers at several overpasses around the region – some with signs and flags – gathered to watch and support the truckers.
The convoy left Hagerstown late Sunday morning making its way through Montgomery County in early afternoon on the way to making two loops around the Beltway before heading back to its base at the Hagerstown Speedway. No major traffic delays were reported.
The convoy is expected to make another loop around the Beltway on Monday – possibly in the morning – which could effect traffic in the region.
