Protestors gathered outside the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) board building in Rockville in solidarity with four teachers who were put on administrative leave recently after speaking out about the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Tuesday’s protest was in support of teachers’ freedom of speech to oppose what protestors say is genocide in Palestine.
Monday morning, Israeli and American parents gathered at MCPS headquarters for a rally to show support of MCPS to continue their fight against antisemitism that one supporter told MCM “includes enforcement of teacher/staff conduct which alleviates bullying and intimidation within the Community at large as numerous hate/bias incidents have increased at an alarming rate.”
Last week, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington released a statement in support and appreciation of the school system’s intervention to temporarily remove the teachers and investigate each situation.
