The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a public information meeting on Feb. 7 to introduce the new Piney Branch Road Bike Lane project and discuss their latest plans for the existing Flower Avenue lanes project.
The proposed Piney Branch Road Separated Bike Lanes Facility project would run along Piney Branch Road (MD 320) from the west end of Sligo Creek Trail to the east end of New Hampshire Avenue (MD 650).
The project would provide additional pedestrian and bicycle connectivity along Piney Branch Road beyond the immediate vicinity of the future Purple Line Station Area.
The Flower Avenue Separated Bike Lanes Project design stage is 35% complete and would run between Arliss Street and Piney Branch Road (MD 320) and provide connections for cyclists to the future Arliss Street Purple Line station.
Public feedback is encouraged, as designs for the plans are not set and could be subject to change.
The meeting will be held Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Social Hall B of the Long Branch Community Recreation Center, located at 8700 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring. The meeting will be accessible both in-person and virtually, with online registration required to attend.
